By Cynthia Wampner Hello to everyone from all of us at the Licking Senior Center. Thanks to the community for supporting the Ping Pong a Thon and fish fry. And even to all of those folks who live in all the other 49 states that Eugene Maxey recruited. With all of that we raised,     over $5500.00, I do believe if we could raise about $15,000.00 more, we could be in this new building possibly by the end of August. Everyone seems to be getting more excited as the days go by. But we will keep trying till it happens. I ...

And the funnel cakes were awesome. About the new building, things are still looking pretty good. I would like to thank Mayor Keith Cantrell for taking time to paint my office in the new building. By Cynthia Wampner Nothing like loading an elderly mother-in-law and two dogs at 3 a.m. to go to the FEMA building because of tornado warnings. Happy birthday to all of you who are having a birthday this week. Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. About the new building, Lonnie Ward was putting the electrical receptacles in on Friday. Needing LED light fixtures if you ...

By Cynthia Wampner Hello to Everyone. I hope those who were involved in the flooding this past week are finally back into their homes. I took a ride to Boiling Springs Resort; it was so devastating to see this. It looked like a twister came through. I pray for these people who lost everything, and hopefully they can find the peace they need. Keep Marie Barnes in your prayers for she fell and broke her hip last week. Pray for a speedy recovery for Marie. Not a member yet? Would you like to be a part of a growing organization? ...

By Cynthia Wampner Well, as I'm writing this week’s article, I'm thinking I ought to write it from a boat. So much rain, haven't seen this much rain since the great flood of 1993. I remember going to Alton, Illinois and helping with the sandbag operations. What a disaster it was. So many losing everything they owned. Things are looking up at the senior center, serving a lot of meals, seeing a lot of new faces and serving the community of Licking Mo.; to me that's our main focus. The new building is still moving forward with the taping and ...
