TRACK: Girls, boys both take first in Districts

The Licking High School track team went to Rolla to host the 2018 class two district fourth tournament May 5. The boys took first with a total score of 179, as Spokane came in second at 133. The girls took first with a total of 191 and the second place Spokane at 102.5.

In the 100-meter relay, Michael Milhizer took fifth with a PR of 12 seconds, followed in sixth by Kylar Monds at 12.37 seconds. Cainan Hutsell took second in the 200-meter relay with a PR of 23.79 seconds, followed by Milhizer in fourth with 24.48. Kason Monds took fifth in the 400-meter at 56.31 seconds. Keegan Black took first place with PRs in the 800-meter, 1,600-meter, and 3,200-meter with times of 2:09.25, 4:42.39, and 10:57.78 respectively. Zach Krewson took fifth in the 3,200-meter at 12:59.28.

In the 110m hurdles, Tyler Chambers took second for Licking with a PR of 18.65 seconds. Chambers also took first in the 300m hurdles with a PR of 45.85.

In the 4×100-meter relay, the team of Chance Champbell, Hutsell, Garrett Duncan, and Milhizer took second at 47.88. Campbell, Kasen Monds, Hutsell, and Duncan took first in the 4×200-meter relay at 1:38.77. Campbell, Chambers, Black, and Hutsell took first in the 4×400-meter relay at 3:41.63. Black, Kasen Monds, Adam Trump, and Krewson took second in the 4×800-meter relay at 9:49.29.

Sean Loughridge took first place in the men’s shot put at 42-02.75, and Duncan followed in fourth at 37-06. Loughridge also took first in discus with a throw of 127-08, and Duncan took second at 105-01. William Overall took first in pole vault, followed by Joshua Lilly in second, both with a jump of 11-06. Kasen Monds had a PR of 18-08 in the long jump to take sixth. Milhizer took the final event of triple jump and was in first place at 39-08.50.

In the women’s results, Tomi Rose took second place in the 100-meter at 13.42 seconds. Rose also took third in the 200-meter relay at 28.34 seconds, while Kaitlyn Osman took sixth at 29.07. Kyra Taylor took fourth with a PR of 1:07.97 in the 400-meters, and also in the 800-meters at 2:49.65.

McKenzie Cook and Maggie Cline took first and second respectively in both the 100m and 300m hurdles. Cook’s times were 17.51 and 51.05, while Cline was one second behind both times at 18.37 and 52.23 (both PRs).

Abigail Cole, Heather Leuthen, Kelly Lewis, and Osman took first in the 4×100-meter relay at 54.35 seconds. Cline, Cole, Osman, and Rose took first in the 4×200-meter relay at 1:58.83. Cline, Cole, Cook, and Taylor took second in the 4×400-meter relay at 4:35.58. In the final running event, Breedlove, Cole, Leuthen, and Tiana Lewis took fifth in the 4×800-meter relay at 13:12.61.

Over to the field events, Abagail Moncrief took first in the shot put at 32-00.50, followed in second by Alexis Hadix at 30-01. Moncrief also took first in discus with a PR throw of 91-02, followed by Hadix in second at 84-07. Kelly Lewis took first in high jump for the Wildcats at 4-10, followed with McKenzie Cook in third place at 4-08. Leuthen took second in pole vault with a jump of 7-06. Rose took first in long jump at 14-06 and Leuthen in third with a PR of 13-00.25. Kelly Lewis took first in triple jump at 31-04 and Kyra Taylor in second at 28-06.50.
