Wizard of Oz Ballet

By Ann Hines

Children’s Ballet of the Ozarks proudly presents a new and exciting ballet, The Wizard of Oz on June 16-17, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., at the West Plains Civic Center.  See all your favorite characters – Scarecrow, Lion, Tin Man and of course Dorothy – in beautiful scenes set to dance!

The iconic story was originally written in 1900 by L. Frank Baum. In 1902 it was made into a Broadway play, and in 1939, it was made into the beloved film starring Judy Garland. Now in 2017, you can see this childhood favorite re-imagined as a ballet! With a varied score, and dance styles including contemporary, jazz, tap, acro-dance, and musical theater, this is truly a show to please all ages!

Tickets may be purchased for $6.00 in advance by visiting the website, http://www.childrensballetoftheozarks.com/, at C&K Clothing in West Plains, through the Civic Center, or at the door for $8.00
