The individual districts were held for the Wildcat tennis team May 11 in Salem. Unfortunately, none of the members won to move on to sectional play, but they all played hard against the opponents. The first round was single-elimination and was the best two-out-of-three sets, playing to six with no add.

Haley Burrus

Haley Burrus was up first in the singles bracket, playing against Houston’s Trenton Smith. Burrus played very well in the first match, but lost 4-6, 1-6. Lane Mesger was up next in singles against T. Friend from Mountain Grove, and the final score came out 2-6, 3-6.

Aubrie Stephens and Ashley Creek played doubles against Avery Traver and Eli Moore, of Willow Springs. The duo played hard against the Bears, but the outcome was 2-6, 2-6. The last doubles for the Wildcats came in the pairing of Sydney Ice and Sara Taber. Ice and Taber finished 1-6, 0-6 against Salem’s Tatum Hatridge and Quin Blankenship.
