Saturday, Aug. 25, the FFA chapter held a horse show at the Licking Rodeo grounds. This event was for everyone; there was no age limit, young or old. The riders were extremely good Saturday night. A lot of our contestants participated in more than one event Saturday.

Some of the events our contestants competed in were: Walk Trot 10 and older - first place Maddison Wallace, and second place Owen Pursifull. Youth Gated pleasure - first place Zoey Dawson, second place Owen Pursifull, and third place Chloe Wallace. Stock Horse Halter - first place Cheryl Wolcott, and second place Caitlyn Richards. Gaited Halter - first place Maddison Wallace, second place Zoey Dawson, and third place Chloe Wallace. Open Gated Pleasure - first place Lanie Frick, and second place Zoey Dawson. These are just some of the many categories our contestants competed in.

The arena was quite muddy and sloshy that evening from the rain fall the night before. The FFA, along with Suzie Blackburn and some of our active FFA parents, had the cook shack open. This year, all the FFA students were asked to bring a dessert to the horse show to sell at the cook shack. We had a tremendous turn out there as well. We would like to give a big thanks to the Licking Chamber of Commerce for letting the FFA students use your kitchen. We hope to see everyone back next year.
