Betty Sue (Potts) Crow

  Betty Sue (Potts) Crow passed away at the age of 90 on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Mercy Medical Hospital in Springfield, Mo. 
  She was born on July 12, 1928 in Simmons, Mo. to Thomas and Dona Potts.
  She was united in marriage to Wilford Crow May 29, 1947. To this union, three children were born.
  Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Licking, Missouri. She was an active member of WMU, Women on Missions and her Sunday School Class. Other clubs and organizations Betty participated in were Query Club, Sparklers Classics, UFO’s, Senior Citizens, Republican Women, Friends of the Library and Landmark Travel Group. Most of all, she loved visiting with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
  Not one to remain just a housewife, Betty was a hairdresser for 20 years. She was then appointed by the Governor to the State Board of Cosmetology, which included overseeing the examination for cosmetology students. During the late 80’s, Betty was appointed as treasurer and ex-officio Collector of Revenue by Governor John Ashcroft, leaving to serve as Texas County Presiding Commissioner until 1994, not seeking re-election following her second term.
  She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Crow; father and mother; sisters, Helen and husband Cliff Hancock; Gladys and husband Joe Harmon; Ruth and husband Leland Bell; Velma Leah and husband Guy Hutchison.
  Betty is survived by three children, Berry Thomas Crow of San Diego, Calif.; Wilford Grant Crow and wife Sue (Page) of Licking; Suzanne and husband Steve Alexander of Camdenton; grandchildren and spouses, Siciley and Rob Krewson, Sunny and Adam Stack, Drew and Heather Johnson, Micah and Lance Leggitt, Jon and Jessica Johnson; step-grandchildren, Sean and Beth Alexander, Megan and Chas Hodapp; 12 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry Potts and wife Peggy and a host of nieces, nephews and wonderful friends who knew and loved her.
  Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 223 S Main St., Licking, with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Interment was at the Licking Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Library, Licking Branch.
