Jesse James Robbins

Jesse James Robbins, 53, of Bland, MO passed away November 25, 2018.  Jesse was born on October 28, 1965 in Middleton, TN, the son of James Leroy and Fredia Emma (Turner) Robbins.
Jesse loved deer hunting and anything that has to do with the woods.  He had a dog that he considered to be his child.  He took him everywhere and the dog would sit on his lap like a little child.  Jesse has been a dog lover his whole life and never went without having a dog by his side.
He loved kids and had lots of friends whom he considered family.  He grew up in Edgar Springs and Newburg then eventually settled in Bland, MO.  He was married twice to his first wife, Christina Coverdell of Cuba and they had a son together named Jordan (Robbins) Coverdell who has a son named Braxton.  Jesse was very proud to be his grandfather.  When his grandson, Braxton, would come to see him all he wanted to do was walk him around outside to show him how beautiful the world is.  He was so excited to teach his son, Jordan and grandson how to track and hunt in the woods.  He had other grandbabies from his second wife, Vickie Robbins.  She had two daughters with children and he always said, blood does not matter, it is the relationship you have and these grandbabies are mine as well.
He was a hot tempered man but he would not back down to anyone and would stand up for everyone.  He was a hard worker until he had a vehicle accident and a heart attack; that took a lot from him because he could no longer take his long walks in the woods like he used to.  He loved the water, especially the rivers in Flat, Mo and Spring Creek.  He loved horses and knew how to take a wild horse and tame him within one week.  He was a true cowboy.
He loved gun and knives.  His son, Jordan, took after his father and collects knives just like him.  Jesse and Jordan are so much alike, even though they weren’t together a whole lot through life.  They are two peas in a pod as the country folks would say.
Jesse was truly a family man and family meant more to him than anything.  He loved sitting around telling stories and talking about his grandparents and the stories they’d shared with him.
Jesse will be missed for the funny things he would say and his deer hunting skills.  Mainly he will be missed because everyone who knew Jesse would never forget that you had met him.  He would make such an impact on you when you met him that you would never forget it.  No matter what town you are in, I guarantee that if you say “hey do you know Jesse James Robbins?” I bet they would say, “Yes, he is a good man.”  He will be missed by everyone and we will look in the woods and know he has probably roamed out there somewhere at some time.
He is survived by his mother, Fredia Bunton; wife, Vickie Robbins; son, Jordan Coverdell of Cuba and grandson; daughters, Hannah and Brooke and their children; two brothers, seven sisters, many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, James Robbins; grandparents, George Robbins, Mamie Robbins, Jessie Turner and Ellen Turner; brother, Daniel; son, Josh and aunts and uncles.
A funeral service was held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St, Licking, MO 65542.  Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Interment was at Trout Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net
