The Licking Wildcats Booster Club and Licking VFW Post 6337 joined forces to host Booster Club Bingo on Friday, Nov. 23. The Booster Club raised $1473 with bingo, and another $101 with donations. These contributions will go to a general fund which is used to pay for sports uniforms and some equipment for Licking Junior High and High School athletes. In general, each sport needs new uniforms about every 4 years, and the Booster Club rotates the sports so they replace some every year.
Open House at the beginning of the school year starts the Booster Club membership drive. This year, the Booster Club has sponsors, adding to their fundraising efforts. Another fundraiser is the concession stands at games, with coaches and athletes manning the concessions. For Homecoming, there will be a Silent Pie and Cake Auction, with baked goods donated by Booster Club members, athletes, and coaches. The Senior Banner will also be auctioned that night. A trivia night is being considered in the spring as well.
The Booster Club is working hard to support Licking students as they follow their dreams. In this time of thanks giving, we are thankful for our Booster Club and for the community that joined together to give everything they could.

  1. Correction: The article in the November 29, 2018 edition of The Licking News stated “The Booster Club raised $1473 with bingo, and another $101 with donations.” It should have read, “Licking VFW Post 6337 raised $1473 with bingo and collected another $101 in donations, which they donated to the Booster Club.”
