Lady Cats Tame The Lions

Submitted by Steven Rissler

Licking traveled to Crocker on Thursday to face the Lady Lions. Licking started slow but still led 11-6 after the first quarter. The second quarter was an offensive party; several girls got into the scoring column and the Lady Cats dropped 29 points to Crocker’s 6 to take a 40-12 lead into the locker room.
The Lady Lions would put up a fight in the third, but Licking continued to make shots and force turnovers to push the lead to 55-26 after 3 quarters. Licking would pitch a shutout in the fourth to cruise to a 69-26 Frisco League road win and improve to 9-0 overall.
Licking had 4 girls in doubles led by Karlee Holland with 17 points, 7 rebounds; Kylie Taylor 13 points on 4/5 shooting; Anna Sullins 11 points on 4/6 shooting; and Abby Moncrief 10 points and 8 rebounds. Lexi Hadix added 8 points, Lainy Hadix 4 points, Kiley Ingram 2 points and 3 blocked shots, Kasey Richards 2 points and Tomi Rose 2 points and 4 offensive rebounds.
“The girls are shooting the ball well and not giving up easy buckets.  That’s a tough combo for our opponents,”  Coach Rissler stated.
Licking Lady Cats will play undefeated North County on Thursday, Dec. 27 at the Rolla Holiday Tournament.
