Dorothy “Fern” McClure Goodwin



  Dorothy “Fern” McClure Goodwin, daughter of the late Walker and Ruby Beckham, was born June 17, 1936 in Texas County. She entered into eternal rest at her home in Springfield, Mo. on February 9, 2019 at the age of 82.
  In 1952 she married Donald McClure in Licking. They raised four children, Nancy, Susie, Vickie, and Michael in West Plains. She later married John J. Goodwin in West Plains and they enjoyed 27 years of marriage, family, and travel until his death in 2008. She was employed by Ozarks Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Oncology department for many years. Prior to becoming a nurse, she was employed at International Shoe Company.
  Fern is survived by one brother, Willis Lee Beckham of Fla.: three daughters, Nancy Parrish and husband, Glen, granddaughter, Whitney Adams, great-grandchildren, Kelton and Reese Adams of Nixa; Susie McClure and granddaughters, Aubrey and Emily Downen of Springfield; Vickie Meador and husband, Charley, granddaughters, Madison Meador of Mountain Grove, Erin Greenfield and husband, Bob, great-grandchildren Lilly, Aiden, and Greyson McClure of Springfield and one grandson, Eric Click of Mountain Grove. She is survived by one son: Michael McClure and wife, Shannon, grandson, Taylor and wife, Mariah, granddaughters, Londyn and Micayla of Spokane. She is also survived by two stepsons: John N. Goodwin and wife, Jan, daughters, Lee and Stephanie, and great-grandchildren, Morgan, Dakota, and Rachel and great-great-grandchildren, Ben and Gabriel; and Mark Goodwin and wife, Barbara, and grandchildren, Tim and Scott, and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Emma.
  She will be missed by many nieces and nephews and their children, numerous friends and family.
  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Fox Funeral Home, 128 S. Main St, Licking, officiated by Jon Knochenmus and John Simons. Interment will follow at the Licking Cemetery. Pallbearers are Glen Parrish, Charley Meador, Eric Click, Bob Greenfield, Marshall McClure, Taylor McClure; with Jeff Stephens as an honorary pallbearer.
