Gerald Dennis Chambers

  Gerald Dennis Chambers, age 68, son of Gerald Lloyd and Doris LaFern (Hadley) Chambers was born June 27, 1950 in Waynesville, Mo. He passed away January 11, 2019 at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
  He grew up in Pacific and graduated from Pacific High School with the class of 1968. He was a chef at the Golden Kettle before entering the Navy. He joined the U.S Navy in 1970 and served sixteen years during Vietnam traveling all over the world aboard submarines. He was honorably discharged in 1986. After the service he worked several years at Brown’s Shoe until it closed. He also worked as a cook at Mom’s kitchen.
  Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers; Kent and Curtis Chambers. He is survived by his sisters; Brenda Kay Buckner and husband Dean of Licking, Kelley Lewis and husband Kenny of Licking, Loretta Chambers of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Jill Annette Stoner and husband Steven of Salem; numerous, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
  Dennis was an avid bowler, bowling several perfect games while he was in the Navy and at Houston Bowl. He also enjoyed reading, watching movies and cooking. He will be missed by his family and friends.
  The family respectfully suggests donations be made to the Craddock Cemetery in lieu of flowers. You may express online condolences at www.evansfh.com.
  The family is hosting a Celebration of Life, with full Military Honors Saturday February 9, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Licking Pentecostal Holiness Church with Erin McConnell officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
