March 31 was race day at the First Baptist Church in Licking. The day began with free hotdogs, chips and desserts. The students, parents and teachers of the AWANA program participated in the annual Grand Prix pinewood derby. Every racer received a certificate of participation.
The race consisted of two divisions: “Clubbers” - the children, and “Oldies” - the adults. Cars were judged on appearance as well as performance, and prizes were given in each division.
