Brian A. Turner



Brian Arthur Turner of Steelville was born on Friday, January 9, 1959 in Houston, Mo. to Harold Ira Turner and Lanaye Valentine Cross Turner. He passed away at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Mo. on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at the age of 60-years, 3-months and 9-days.
Brian grew up in Licking and attended Licking Schools. He met the love of his life, Barbara Maye Holt and later married her on October 6, 1979, in Licking, and to this union a daughter, Brandy, was born. He accepted the Lord early in life and attended a Baptist church near Raymondville. He worked as a painter and drywall installer; he built cabins out at the game ranch in Cook Station and was a co-owner of Family Inheritance on Main Street in Steelville. Brian was a member of the Painter’s Union in St. Robert. Brian used to raise chickens and did that for many years. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, trapping animals and gardening. He also enjoyed sitting and visiting with people in he and Barb’s store, talking to friends at the coffee shop and telling stories. Most of all, Brian loved his family, especially his grandchildren who will miss him tremendously.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lanaye Turner; parents-in-law Lester and Viola Holt; kid brother Joe Stark and two sisters-in-law Vicki Eiffert and Brenda Holt.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Turner of Steelville; daughter Brandy (Adam) Duncan of Perryville; 2 grandsons Wyatt and Gavan Duncan of Perryville; brothers Bruce Turner of Big Piney, Harold "Snuffy" (Jane) Turner of Houston, Gary Stark of Clinton, Ark.; sisters Carol (Mark "Moose") Hartman of Raymondville, Donna (Doug) Underwood of Farmington and Paulette (Dean) Turner-Atwood of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sisters-in-law of Virginia (Roger) Bates of Tenn. and Karen (Ralph) Backues of Licking; brother-in-law Roy (fiancée Carlene) Holt of Springfield; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Craddock Cemetery, Licking.
Arrangements under the care of Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville.
