Track - Waynesville JV Meet and Ava Open Meet

The Licking High School Track team competed at the Waynesville JV meet Tue. March 27. The boys’ team placed sixth overall, and the girls’ team placed fourth overall.  Placing in the top three and receiving medals at the meet were Kaleb Lewis second in pole vault clearing a height of 9’-6”; Tomi Rose was third in long jump with a distance of 14’-10.5”; Bailie Joyner was first place girls discus throwing a distance of 83’-8”; Clifford Hawn took third in shot put throwing a distance of 36’-0”; boys’ 4x800m relay team of JB Huff, Kaleb Lewis, Jacob Huff and Adam Trump took third place with a time of 9:51.99; Tomi Rose finished third in girls’ 100m dash with a time of 14.01; girls’ 4x200m relay team of Tomi Rose, Abby Cole, Maggie Cline and Kelly Lewis were third with a time of 2:02.66; Kasey Richards took first place in the 1600m run with a time of 6:16.11; and Maggie Cline finished second in 300m hurdles with a time of 53.88. The team continued on in action on Thursday at Ava.
The track meet at Ava was cut short on Thu. due to weather, but Licking athletes placed in the following events. For the boys’ team, Josh Lilly was first place in boys’ pole vault, jumping a height of 12’-10” and breaking the school record. Boys’ 4x800m relay team of JB Huff, Tyler Chambers, Keegan Black and Kaleb Lewis finished second with a time of 9:17; boys’ 4x200m relay team of Chambers, Kasen Monds, Cainan Hutsell and Michael Milhizer finished second with a time of 1:38.54; boys’ 4x100m relay team of Hutsell, Monds, Milhizer and Josh Lilly took third place with a time of 47.62; Milhizer earned third place in boys’ triple jump with a distance of 38’9”; Clifford Hawn placed eighth in boys’ shot put with a distance of 35’-7”; Hutsell finished seventh in boys’ 100m dash with a time of 11.91; JB Huff took fifth place in boys’ 1600m run with a time of 5:07.4; Monds was eighth in boys’ long jump with a distance of 17’-5”; Chambers finished fourth in 300m hurdles with a time of 47.05, Seth Overall took second place in boys’ pole vault with a jump of 11’-0”.
For the girls’ team Maggie Cline earned second place in 100m hurdles with a time of 18.01 and second in 300m hurdles with a time of 52.39; Tomi Rose was second in girls’ 100m dash with a time of 13.32 and third in girls’ long jump with a distance of 14’-0.75”; Abagail Moncrief took second in girls’ shot put with a distance of 31’-7” and third in girls’ discus with a distance of 85’-7”; Lexi Hadix finished third in girls’ shot put with a distance of 30’-0” and first place in girls’ discus with a throw of 98’-2”; Bailie Joyner was fourth in discus with a distance of 79’-1” and fifth in shot put with a throw of 28’-6”; Kelly Lewis earned first place in high jump with a jump of 5’-0” and first place in triple jump with a jump of 29’-5”; Winter Murray took sixth place in high jump with a jump of 4’-2” and fourth place in triple jump with a distance of 27’-10.5”; girls’ 4x200m relay team of Lewis, Rose, Cline and Murray finished third with a time of 2:04.06; and the girls’ 4x100m relay team of Lewis, Rose, Cline and Murray took first place. Both teams will continue in competition next Saturday at Russellville.
