Wildcat Tennis

By Jimmie Stephens

The Wildcat Tennis team traveled to Houston on April 3 to face a very experienced Houston Tiger team. The Wildcats could not pull out the victory but competed with a tough team of mostly juniors and seniors. This Houston team would go on to win the tournament the following day. Sam Sullins played the best he has all season in both his doubles and single matches.

The Wildcat Tennis team traveled to Salem Wed. April 4 to compete in an individual flighted tournament. Everyone did fantastic competing in the tournament and everyone picked up multiple wins on the day. Richelle Schwarz competed in the #1 single flight, Tristen Melton in the #2 single flight, Aubrie Stephens and Ashley Creek in the #1 doubles flight and Sam Sullins and Kimrey Krewson #2 doubles flight. Tristen Melton did great and got third place in the #2 flight of singles.

The Wildcat Tennis team next traveled to Mountain Grove on Thu. April 5 to finish the week off. Once again, the Wildcats battled the Panthers but could not pull out the victory, losing 1-8. I was very proud of Aubrie Stephens and Ashley Creek’s effort in doubles and singles. Landen Hock was also clutch again for our team and did a great job in his second varsity experience. The season is approximately half over, finishing a busy month of April before we head into district competition the beginning of May.
