Drug Arrest
Submitted by Sheriff Scott K. Lindsey

On May 8, Texas County deputies were dispatched to Austin Lake in the Dunn area for a report of a male creating a disturbance and striking a vehicle with a baseball bat. Upon arrival deputies contacted the male and observed signs of drug impairment. The male was identified as Clayton Tatera. A consent search of Tatera’s belongings revealed medication identified as a controlled substance for which he did not have a prescription. The subject was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail.
Clayton W. Tatera, age 31, of Vanzant, was incarcerated on a 24-hour hold for possession of a controlled substance. The medication will be sent to the crime laboratory for confirmation and a probable cause statement will also be sent to the Texas County Prosecuting attorney seeking formal charges.
The above charges are mere accusations are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
