Licking Boys’ and Girls’ Track Teams win Conference Track Meet

Both the girls’ and the boys’ track teams won the conference track meet this year.

The Licking High School Boys’ and Girls’ track team won the conference meet last Wednesday in Waynesville. The girls’ team won the meet with a score of 176, and the boys’ team won with a score of 208.

Keegan Black took four first-place medals 
in conference, in the 800m, 1600 m, and 3200m runs, 
and another as part of the 4x400m Relay team. 
Black scored 32.5 individual points 
and was named MVP of the meet on the boys’ side.

Licking Senior Keegan Black was MVP of the meet on the boys’ side, scoring 32.5 individual points. Josh Lilly placed first in the Pole Vault, receiving All Conference Honors and set a new school record clearing a height of 13’6”. Members of the teams placing first and receiving All-Conference Honors were Tomi Rose in the 100m Dash with a time of 13.66; Kelly Lewis in the High Jump clearing a height of 4’11”; Tyler Chambers 110m High Hurdles with a time of 18.02; Cainan Hutsell in the 100m Dash with a time of 11.84 and 200m dash with a time of 24.17; Boys’ 4x200m relay team with a time of 1:39.37 with members Kasen Monds, Josh Lilly, Cainan Hutsell, and Eli Keeney; Keegan Black in the 1600m Run with a time of 4:46.76, 800m Run with a time of 2:10.36, and the 3200m Run with a time of 11:11.30; Boys’ 4x100m relay team with a time of 46.86 with members Kasen Monds, Michael Milhizer, Cainan Hutsell, and Josh Lilly; the Boys’ 4x400m relay team with a time of 3:49.61 with members Keegan Black, Kasen Monds, Tyler Chambers, and Josh Lilly; and Michael Milhizer in Triple Jump with a distance of 39’5.75”.
Other members of the team receiving medals were Maggie Cline third place 100m hurdles with a time of 18.26 and second place 300m Hurdles with a time of 51.55; Kasey Richards second place 1600m run with a time of 6:14.94 and third place 800m Run with a time of 2:55.45; Tomi Rose second place 200m dash with a time of 28.71; Cadrian Hutsell third place 3200m run with a time of 17:31.22; Abagail Moncrief second place Shot Put with a distance of 32’2.5”; and second place Discus with a distance of 90’4”; Heather Leuthen second place Pole Vault clearing a height of 7’0”; Abby Cole third place Long Jump with a distance of 14’3”; Winter Murray second place Triple Jump with a distance of 29’9.5”; and Kelly Lewis third place with a distance of 26’4.5”; third place Girls’ 4x800m Relay team with a time of 13:49.45 with members Maddy Cole, Kyra Taylor, Heather Leuthen, and Cadrian Hutsell; third place girls’ 4x100m relay team members were Tomi Rose, Kelly Lewis, Winter Murray, and Abby Cole; second place girls’ 4x400m relay team with a time of 4:47.67 members were Kyra Taylor, Abby Cole, Casey Richards, and Maggie Cline; JB Huff third place 1600m Run with a time of 5:00.91; Cade Richards third place 300m Hurdles with a time of 50.36; Clifford Hawn third place boys’ discus with a distance of 95’9”; Eli Keeney third place Long Jump with a distance of 17’5.5”, Seth Overall second place Pole Vault clearing a height of 13’0”. 
Both teams will continue in action this week as they travel for their last regular season meet in Viburnum on Tuesday. Districts will be held this Saturday in New Haven. First round of Field Events will begin at 9:30 a.m.
