On Monday, April 29, Licking R-8 students went to Newburg for the annual Frisco League Math Contest. For the second year in a row, Licking’s high school team won First Place!
In the Algebra 1 category, Syeira Tomery, Krysta Joyner, and Randall Hock all competed, with Joyner placing fourth and Hock winning first place. In the Consumer and Technical Math category, Tori Porter won third place. Neavaeh Neal, Lizzy Lewis, and Kaleigh Fox all competed in the Geometry category with Lewis placing seventh and Fox placing fourth. Another first place win this year went to Isaac Haden, this time in the Algebra 2 contest. Helping the team effort was Richelle Schwarz who won third in the Free-For-All category. And finally, taking yet another first place gold medal was Tyler Chambers, this time in the Trigonometry and Logarithms division.
It was a fun evening, and bringing home the First Place FLMC trophy again was pretty sweet! Mrs. Beckett, Mrs. Lewis, Mr. Smith, and Mr. Holmes would like to thank and congratulate all of the students who participated!
