Movie at the Mill Night

The evening was perfect for sitting outside enjoying a movie. It was actually darker outside than the photo indicates, and the mill wall made a good screen.

Friday evening, May 24, was a perfect evening for a sit-in movie. Not a drive-in, but a “bring your chair, blanket, or pillow and get comfortable sitting outside” sit-in movie. The first Movie At the Mill night was enjoyed by all who attended.
Horseshoes, Frisbee throwing, sack races and tug-of-wars were tried by the kids prior to the movie. Popcorn, candy and drinks were provided free of charge. And the weather cooperated perfectly.
The north side of the mill served as the screen for the movie, and people gathered chairs and blankets in a rough semicircle to watch “McLintock!” the 1963 western comedy starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. The movie was enjoyed by all.

Two against one in tug-of-war.
Don’t miss out on the next planned movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” It fits the theme for the Christmas in July Bazaar at the mill scheduled for July 27. Watch for the movie date and time, and come out and enjoy an old classic. Something about watching it outside makes it a new experience, so don’t miss out. All are welcome, and it’s free!
