Submitted by Sheriff Scott K. Lindsey
On July 13, 2019 a female victim came to the Sheriff’s Office and reported being assaulted by her spouse at a residence on Roberson Drive in the Houston area. The victim stated on July 12, her estranged husband Joseph Williams was at the residence and asked her to go into a room away from their children to speak. The female stated Joseph then armed himself with a gun and made statements about shooting himself or her. The female stated she attempted to have the children call 911 and Joseph took the phone from them. The female reported Joseph choked her and held her down. The victim stated Joseph eventually released her after several hours when she agreed not to tell anyone what happened. The deputy investigating the report also received information that Joseph had told a co-worker what occurred with his wife as well. Joseph Williams was located in West Plains by the Howell County Sheriff’s Office and arrested.
