Texas County Drug Investigation

Submitted by Sheriff Scott K. Lindsey

On July 27, 2019, the Texas County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Piney Drive in the Bucyrus area. The warrant was part of a multi-agency drug investigation initiated by the Houston Police Department that led to further criminal activity in rural Texas County. During the execution of the warrant several subjects were detained, and the residence searched. The search led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A child was also present at the residence where the drug activity was taking place.
Theresa Villarreal, age 52, of Bucyrus, was transported to the Texas County Jail. Villarreal was charged with Trafficking Drugs Methamphetamine in excess of 30-grams, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Drug Paraphernalia, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child by Texas County Asst. Prosecuting Attorney Jason Macpherson. Villarreal was held in the Texas County Jail pending bond of $250,000.
The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
