Animals and horticulture vied for prizes at the fair.

During the Texas Country fair last week were contests for all ages. Contests included Diary and Hog shows, market steer, sheep and goat shows, and a variety of activities.
The Diary Blue Ribbon winners were Willa and Oliver Appleton. Oliver Heifer also took the title of Champion Heifer Calf/Supreme female. Willa took the title of Showmanship Winner. The hog show had Seven Classes the First place winners are Class 1 Evan Smith, Class 2 Jaden Brotherton, Class 3 Oliva Ice, Class 4 Evan Smith, Class 5 Whitney Evans, Class 6 Whitney Evans, Class 7 Lacey Wuertley.The market steer, sheep and goat shows had local winners in several divisions. Light weight steer division Kellsi Gayer took first with her steer weighing in at 1025 pounds and with special placing of Champion/Rate Of Gain, second place Mattie Mckee with her steer weighting in at 1090 pounds  and third place Kohen Gayer with the steer at 1070 pounds. There was also a middle weight divison where Mathew Price took first and his steer with the weight of 1200 pounds,  Morgan  Lazenby took both second and third place her steers weighing in at 1180 pounds. Lazenby also took home the title, Selling Grand Champion. Now on to the heavy weight, first place goes to Mattie Mckee, second place Austin Ramsey, third place Kaden Gaither.
The Market Sheep Show winner for the light weight is Gracie Peck taking both first and second place. Lila Crewse took third and fourth. In the heavy weight we have Gwen Sprouse taking first and second place and also the titles of Show Grand Champion and Show Reserve Champion Market Lamb, and Gracie Peck taking third.
The Market Goats Show Class 1 First Place is Haley Crowe, second place Oliva Ice, third place Halee Ammons. The Market Goats Class 2 First Place goes to Elias Ice, second place Lilly Hines, third place is Jaycee Koch. 
Friday and Saturday night brought out the BMX riders for shows. Division BMX Team, Wisconsin FMX Team, riders Cody Cavanaugh, Zack Warden, Joshua Mertells, The Quad Warrior, Win Thompson, Charles Bush, Tom Raniolo, Kody Rowe and Rob Routley.

State Representative Robert Ross presented a Unites States Flag and a Missouri Flag to Houston Chamber of Commerce Director Angie Quinlan. The flags were flown during the Old Settlers Reunion.
