The Licking Police Department is proud to announce the addition of two new police vehicles, a new 2019 Ram 1500 4x4 truck and a used 2017 Ford Explorer. The addition of the two vehicles brings the police fleet to three AWD/4x4 vehicles, which are greatly beneficial in inclement weather. The police fleet consists of the 2019 Ram truck, two 2017 Ford Explorers, a 2016 Chevrolet Impala, a 2011 Dodge Charger and a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria.
In the last couple of months, the department has been fortunate in receiving grant money to purchase new equipment. The purchase and installation of new portable radios and in-car repeater equipment have recently been completed. With the new equipment the officers are able to have better communication with dispatch and other officers in the county, which was greatly needed for our department.
The department continues to strive to better serve our community. The recently purchased equipment, and the needed equipment we plan to purchase in the future, will greatly aid the police force in serving the citizens of Licking.
