On September 21, 2019 a Texas County Deputy was dispatched to a residence on Highway 17 south of Summersville for a suspicious person and vehicle.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded also.  Upon arriving at the location, the deputy and troopers discovered a stolen 2006 GMC truck from Kansas City; a firearm was also found inside the vehicle.  After investigation a male subject was identified as the driver of the stolen truck and taken into custody.
Shannon L. Brim age 31, of Cuba was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail.  Brim was placed on a 24-hour hold and a probable cause statement has been submitted to the Texas County Prosecuting Attorney seeking charges of tampering with motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
