On Nov. 3, 2019, Texas County deputies were dispatched to Pointer Road in the Mtn. Grove area for an assault. Upon arriving at the scene, three female subjects reported they were inside a parked vehicle and were approached by Danny Nungesser and Stacey Sartor. A child was also inside the vehicle. The complainants stated Nungesser reached through an open window and struck one of the female subjects with a metal bar. A female exited the vehicle and was thrown to the ground by Sartor. The subjects stated Nungesser continued to strike the female in the car with the metal bar and then began to strike the subject thrown to the ground by Sartor with the bar. Sartor obtained a baseball bat and broke the windshield of the vehicle. One of the female victims was transported by EMS for treatment of injuries suffered while being struck with the metal bar.
The suspects left the scene and were located and detained by the Mtn. Grove Police Department. Texas County deputies transported Nungesser and Sartor to the Texas County Jail. Texas County Asst. Prosecuting Attorney Jason Macpherson charged Danny A. Nungesser, age 27, of Mtn. Grove with Assault 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Property Damage, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Violation of an Order of Protection. Stacey N. Sartor, age 35, of Mtn. Grove was charged with Assault 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Property Damage, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Nungesser and Sartor are being held in the Texas County Jail pending $750,000 bond each.
The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
