Sheriff Scott K. Lindsey

On the evening of November 4, 2019 a Texas County Deputy on patrol observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway on Highway 32 in Licking. The vehicle then traveled east on Highway 32 and the deputy followed observing a traffic violation. During the stop the deputy received consent to search the vehicle. The vehicle search led to the discovery of a bag containing a substance believed to be cocaine. The driver was identified as Cynthia Farris. Farris was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Texas County Jail. Upon arriving at the jail, Farris informed another deputy that she also had a pipe and more of the drug concealed on her person.
Texas County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jason Macpherson charged Cynthia M. Farris, age 38, of Licking with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and fail to drive on the right half of the roadway. Farris was held in the Texas County Jail pending $50,000 bond.
The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
