Frights and delights on Main Street

The costume contest in front of City Hall drew a large crowd. For the 0-4-year-old category, winners from first to third were: Cabbage Patch Kid-Maizi Nash, Robot-Waylon Corkell and Peacock-Adlynn Corkell.

The 5-8-year-old category winners, from first to third were: Scary Clown - Brantley Cantrell; Thing 1 - Kinlee Litte/Thing 2 - Aubrie Peterson and Wednesday Addams and Cousin It.

The 9-12-year-old category winners, from first to third were: Football in the Eye - Toby Head; Grandma - Addison Floyd and The Hitman - Cayden Evans.

 Downtown Licking was packed for the annual Light the Night Festival on Halloween. Churches, businesses and the city had activities set up along Main Street and handed out candy, hot dogs, nachos, chips, cookies, cupcakes, soda, hot chocolate and even socks. Stevie’s Small Town Karaoke kept the hits rolling to chase away the chill of the evening.

Hickory Manor residents encircled the dining room and handed out treats to the trick-or-treaters.
  Hickory Manor was also a busy place, with trick-or-treaters lined up to the door, waiting to collect treats and play games. Residents enjoyed seeing the costumes and handing out candy.

The Licking branch of the Texas County Library and Flo Crisp hosted a story time with trick-or-treating Tuesday, Oct. 5. These were some of the children who enjoyed the event.
