PCR3 boys add two wins

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, the Phelps County Cardinals faced Raymondville for an eighth grade boys’ game. The Cardinals outscored the Eagles 54 to 18. PCR3 mounted an even scoring attack with Wyatt Wilson hitting for 14, Shawn Black scored 10 and Riley Edgar and Nick Boettcher each added nine. Rounding out the scoring was Kaleb Hart with 6 points, Ryan Hunter with four and Gavin Robbins with two. This raised their record to 3-1.
Thursday night, the PCR3 boys had both A and B games and the girls played also, against Dent-Phelps R-3. Both of the Cardinal boys’ teams came out on top. The A game was Cardinals 45, Dent-Phelps 39.
Shawn Black and Wyatt Wilson led scoring with 16 and 10 points respectively. Riley Edgar, Ryan Hunter and Nick Boettcher each added five and JD Fox four points. This extended their record to 4-1.
In the B Game, the Cardinals scored 23 to Dent-Phelps’ 12 points. Kyatin Tennyson led scoring with 10 points, Riley Edgar added seven and Gavin Robbins, Kaleb Hart and Daniel Rodriguez each had two points. The B team’s record is 2-1.

The Lady Cardinals fell to Dent-Phelps, 26-43. Madison Hamby led the scoring with 13 points, followed by Lindsey Lucas with seven points. Tessa Lucas added four points and Brie Pogue two points to round out the scoring. The Lady Cardinals’ record fell to 1-3.
