PCR3 Cardinals

The Phelps County R-III Cardinals faced the Mustangs of Green Forest Monday in an away game. The Cardinals avenged last week’s loss to Newburg with a victory over the Mustangs, 52 – 44. Shawn Black led scoring with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals, an assist and two blocks. Wyatt Wilson had 13 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks. JD Fox added 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, an assist and 5 blocks. Nick Boettcher hit for 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist. Riley Edgar had 2 points, 1 rebound and 5 steals; Ryan Hunter 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist and Daniel Rodriquez a steal. With six players scoring and two in double figures, the Cardinals mounted a more balanced attack, raising their record to 2-1.
Green Forest won the B Game 17-6, with Kyatin Tennyson scoring 4 points and Kaleb Hart 2 points for the Cardinals.
Green Forest also defeated the Lady Cardinals, 30-19. The Lady Cardinals improved their scoring attack, with Madison Hamby’s 8 points, Sydney Maisch’s 7 points and Lindsey Lucas’ 4 points. The Lady Cardinals fall to 1-2 for the season.
