Texas County Memorial Hospital Healthcare Foundation held their 13th Annual Chili Cook Off on Saturday at the Houston Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds Community Building. The great weather contributed to the large turn out for the event. All proceeds raised benefit TCMH Hospice of Care, which provides hospice care for terminally ill patients and their family members regardless of their ability to pay for services. All the funds remain in our local community for use by local area individuals.
There were three teams competing from the city of Licking this year. Lickin’ Fried Chicken from the TCMH Licking Family Clinic was headed by Dr. Doug Crase. The team placed second in the Judge’s Choice Chili Award which was sponsored by Casey’s General Stores. Average Joe’s from T
CMH EMS and ER was led by Dr. Selina Jeanise and took home the First Place Judge’s Choice Chili Award. Beano 911 from the Texas County 911 Center took home the Spiciest Chili Award, sponsored by Trane U.S. Inc. Chillin’ Villains from the TCMH Lab with Dr. Bart Shaw took home the prize for the Best-Decorated Booth, with a Maleficent theme.
