Christmas elves disguised as neighbors

The congregation at Abounding Hope Church spread Christmas cheer with their Children’s Christmas Store Saturday. Tables filled the room with items priced from $.10 to $1.00 and children ages 3 to 12 were able to shop for gifts for their families. Free gift-wrapping and refreshments were provided as well. The Christian Church held their Spirit of Giving Christmas Party Saturday. Free coats were offered and parents were able to shop for a want, a need, a stocking stuffer and a backpack (with a blanket inside) for each child. Donations from the congregation and the community funded the event. Gift wrappers and organizers included, from left: Christy Huff, Linda Miller, Amy Richards and Teresa Skidmore. Georgia Merrick (not pictured) wrapped gifts chosen by children for their parents in the movie room, where “The Star” was playing for children while their parents shopped.

Refreshments were served for the shoppers at the event. Helping in the kitchen at the Spirit of Giving Christmas Party were, from left: Tori Porter, Sierra Wolford, Kassi Ramsey, Makenna Skidmore, Barb Tippit and Sherry Dunlap. Door greeters (not pictured) for the event were Denny Dunlap and Maybelle Gale.
