Texas Co. DWI crash results in fatality

 Missouri State Highway Patrol reports indicate that a two-vehicle accident on December 14, 2019, in Texas County resulted in a fatality. Tanner C. Beasley, 26, of Summersville, was arrested at 7:45 a.m. and released to medical personnel, with charges of driving while intoxicated – death of another (not a passenger), felony assault – 2nd degree, careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident and no insurance.
The accident occurred at 6:14 a.m. on Hwy. 137, six miles north of Willow Springs. The crash occurred as Beasley’s southbound 2000 Jeep Wrangler travelled over the centerline into the path of a northbound 2005 Chrysler Touring, driven by Jessica A. Messex, 30, of Willow Springs, causing the Jeep to overturn. Both vehicles came to rest off the roadway.
Heath L. Wadkins, 30, of Mtn. View, an occupant in the Chrysler, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at 0834 hours by Texas County Coroner Marie Lasater. Wadkins was released to Lasater and transported to the Texas County Justice Center. Beasley and Messex both sustained serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were removed by Gentleman Jims. The report indicates Beasley and Messex were utilizing safety devices, and Wadkins was not.
