Saturday, Jan. 25th a grand birthday party was held for centenarian Roy Cavaness at the Licking Assembly of God Church. It was a wonderful opportunity to express warmest wishes for a memorable birthday.
Granddaughter Anita Simpson welcomed attendees at the door, where they signed a large “R” keepsake; Simpson also did a beautiful job decorating the hall. Garold, Roy’s younger son, gave a welcome and blessing which included thanks for a great father. Family members attended the sizeable cake and beverage tables while sharing memories and visiting.
Celebrating with Roy were his wife, Pauline; three children; Gary, Garold and Betty, Ina having passed in 2019; all five grandchildren; 8 of 13 great-grandchildren and one of three great-great grandchildren, with approximately 176 people, including family, friends and those whom Roy has impacted in a positive way throughout his life.

A proclamation from the Office of the Mayor, Keith Cantrell was issued on behalf of the City Council and the entire City of Licking in honor of Roy’s 100th Birthday.

The family extends sincere thanks for the wonderful turnout of friends and the community on Roy’s special day.
