Tomi Rose puts the JV Lady ‘Cats up 33-22 in the
second half against Crocker, with this shot in heavy traffic.
The (10-4) Crocker Lady Lions traveled to Licking on Monday to face off with the Lady ‘Cats and left town with a 60-37 loss. Licking hadn't played in 10 days and the extended break showed up early in the girls conditioning, but Abbie Sullins was able to get going offensively, dropping 13 in the first quarter. Licking had six girls score in the first and raced to a 25-6 lead. The paced slowed in the second as both teams scored 13 for a 38-19 halftime score. The girls focused on getting Moncrief some touches inside in the third and she responded with six points to help extended the lead to 48-21 in favor of LHS. The girls would get the turbo clock rolling in the fourth and get the east Frisco League win.
Abbie Sullins led the way with 17 points; Moncrief added 11 points; Anna Sullins totaled 8 points and 8 rebounds; Karlee Holland 7 points, 8 assists and 6 steals; Winter Murray 5 points; Kylie Taylor 6 points; Tomi Rose 4 points and Kaida Cook 2 points.
"We started strong and finished strong but the second and third weren't pretty. We have to learn to stay sharp even when we are up big." Coach Rissler.
The Laquey Lady Hornets came to town last week and were sent home with a 68-16 shellacking at the hands of the Lady Wildcats. Licking jumped out early and never looked back as the girls won every quarter handily. Karlee Holland paced Licking with 19 points (all in the first half) on 7/10 shooting, six rebounds and six assists.  Abbie Sullins chipped in 17 points on 7/11 shooting to go with four steals. Maci Sparks added seven points, Kylie Taylor had six points, five assists and four steals, Anna Sullins scored four points and had eight rebounds and four steals, Abby Moncrief had six points, Tomi Rose four points and three steals, Winter Murray two points, Kyra Taylor three points.
“We got a chance to work on our man defense tonight and all the girls got to play significant varsity minutes.” Coach Rissler.
