Obituary - Efton John Fuchs


Efton John Fuchs, 47-years-old, died at 10:01 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill.
He leaves behind his mother, Sherry Loving, of Springfield, Ill., and his father, John Fuchs of Missouri, grandmother, Rosemary Fuchs, aunts and uncles Judy Loving, Terry (Sally) Loving, Ann (Dr. Steve) Steer, Frank (Denise) Fuchs, Mark (JoAnne) Fuchs, Lee (Janice) Fuchs, Kevin (Rita) Fuchs, numerous cousins and good friend and long-time care-giver, Doug Cockrum, whom Efton considered to be his brother.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon Loving, Opal Loving, Tom Fuchs and uncle, Tom L. Fuchs.
Efton was the Poster Child for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in 1980. Efton was a graduate of Auburn High School in 1990 and the University of Illinois where he earned a degree in Computer Engineering. He retired from Levi, Ray, & Shoup (LRS) in Springfield where he’d worked for several years.
Efton was known for his quick wit and dry humor and he was so kind-hearted and genuine. Efton, regardless of any obstacles in life, was always able to see the positive side and was able to take anything in stride. His example of grace and patience in any adversity has set a high bar for those that have been lucky enough to know him. He was always smiling and was an avid movie lover, Star Wars fan and Game of Thrones aficionado.
Services will be held on February 8 at Loami United Methodist Church, Loami, Ill., with visitation from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. From 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. we will have a Remembrance Celebration of Life where friends and family are encouraged to share your stories and/or pictures of Efton. Following the Celebration of Life, there will be a light lunch.
