Wilson Murray finds an opening for a shot against Iberia.
By Coach Jess Ross
This past week the Wildcat boys basketball team split the week with a win over Mtn. Grove by a score of 57-54 and a loss on Thursday to Frisco League Conference opponent Iberia by a score of 61-71.
It hasn't shown in the win column in the past two weeks, with a record of 1-3, but you can definitely see improvement in team effort and consistency for the length of the game. If we can continue to improve in a few key areas such as rebounding and limiting turnovers we will start to turn the corner and put some quality wins up before district play. As upper classmen, both Blake Payne and Wilson Murray have begun to demonstrate better leadership and it is noticeable in a total team effort.

Nicky Hood hit from the outside in the JV contest against Iberia. JV took the game into overtime, but in the end lost a squeaker to Iberia, 38-39.
The team knows that we have an uphill climb but we are pushing ourselves hard and staying positive in attitude and work ethic.

Our JV boys continue to work hard and we couldn't be prouder of the effort they are putting out. They are really beginning to play well together and that excites us as coaches.
This week we have the St. James tournament and open up with Blair Oaks, ranked number one in Class 3.
