Adam Crossgrove Benefit

There was better than anticipated attendance at the benefit held for Adam Crossgrove Saturday evening at the Fox Fire House. The benefit included a chili supper, auction, 50/50 raffle and a quilt raffle, with all proceeds going towards the purchase of a handicap van. “Thank you to the community, as the family is now halfway towards the purchase price of the van. It would not be possible without the support of the community,” said a local organizer, Wendy King.
Adam was born at 35 weeks on March 27, 2011, with Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy. He spent his first 30 days in the St. Louis Children’s Hospital NICU. Now at the age of eight years, eleven months, Adam weighs 40 lbs. He is completely unable to help himself be transferred or moved, his mother having, until this time, done so for him. She can no longer provide Adam’s mobility alone, needing assistance as he has grown and making it difficult to transport him for doctors’ appointments or any outings. To make donations, call Wendy at 573-466-9035, Kassi at 417-818-2488 or Melissa at 573-578-3289.
