Obituary - Glen Cole


Glen Lyle Cole, age 90, went to be with his savior Jesus Christ and to see the love of his life Agnes Lucy Cole on February 13, 2020. Glen was born June 12, 1929 to Jim Cole and Hazel Fisher Cole in Houston, Mo.
Glen was united in marriage to Agnes Lucy Vaughn on July 10, 1949 and to this union two sons were born, Roger and Michael.
He was a barber for close to 60 years at Wedgewood Barber Shop. He loved spending time with Agnes and his extended family. Gardening, fishing and hunting were his favorite pastimes as well as making and enjoying homemade ice cream.
Glen was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend to many. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Agnes Cole; his parents; brothers, Lester and Wilford; sister, Fern Marie and daughter in law Pamela.
Survivors include his two sons, Dr. Roger Cole (Suzan) and Michael Cole; grandchildren, Chris Cole, Jeff Cole (Laura), Jaime Cates (Chris) and Brandi Hastings (Dr. Jim); great grandchildren Jayce and Tristen Cole, Bryan, Drew, Tyler and Jon Cole, Garrett and Hailey Jarvis, Chase and Camryn Cates, Logan, Reece, Nathan and Brody Hastings; brothers, Vernon Cole (Amy Rose) and Leroy Cole.
A celebration of life service was held on March 1, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel (5234 W. State Hwy. EE, Springfield) with a burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
