Licking native fifth 2020 Troop G fatality

John “Dewayne” Moncrief was killed in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 9:30 p.m. on April 8, 2020, on U.S. 63, three miles north of Houston. Moncrief was southbound in a 2018 Ford F150 when he traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The pickup overturned, ejecting Moncrief.
Moncrief, age 66, was transported by Air Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. On April 9, 2020, at 7:46 a.m., Moncrief was pronounced deceased by Dr. E. Luehr.
Moncrief, formerly of Licking, Mo., was a resident of Rolla, Mo. The Ford F150 sustained total damage in the crash and was towed by Jay’s Towing. The report indicates Moncrief was not utilizing a safety device. This was the fifth fatality for Troop G in 2020, which equals fatalities for the same time period in 2019.
