Vietnam veteran Gordon Streitenberger, of Licking, was honored with a Quilt of Valor on May 20 while visiting family in Iowa.

Gordon Streitenberger, of Licking, was honored on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, with a Quilt of Valor, while visiting his brother in Essex, Iowa.
Streitenberger served as an Airman 2nd Class in the United States Air Force from 1956 – 1960, during the Vietnam era.
Initially stationed on Sheppard AFB, Texas, he went on to serve at Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Bordeaux, France; Wiesbaden, Germany, before coming back to the states to Omaha, Neb.
Presenting the quilt were Brenda Franks of Essex, Iowa; also in attendance were Streitenberger’s brother, Fred Streitenberger and wife Becky.
It was an honor to present this Quilt of Valor. Thank you Gordon for your service to help keep us safe.
