The Licking R-VIII School District celebrated their first day of school Tuesday, Sept. 8. The delayed start saw a few changes this year. Vehicle traffic was heavy around both the high school and the elementary, as many parents drove their children to school. Another change was the presence of crossing guards in anticipation of an increased number of students walking to school.

As of Friday, Sept. 4, the Superintendent’s Office reports enrollment at Licking R-VIII as follows:

Elementary – 413

Secondary – 422

Total Enrollment – 835

Another change for this school year due to COVID-19 is the option for virtual learning. In addition to the 775 students who will be seated in the classrooms, 58 students will be full-time virtual learning with Licking R-VIII teachers and two students will be full-time virtual learning with other outside vendors.
