Two blocks of Main Street in Licking on Saturday evening were filled with superheroes and monsters, dragons and dinosaurs, princesses and politicians, Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore. Col. Sanders, hoboes, clowns, ladybugs, bunnies, pirates and more roamed in search of candy and fun.

Ages 0-4: First place – Donald and Melanie Trump (Bennex Cantrell and Sierra Nickels); Second place – Hobo/Work for Candy (Ryder Bailey); Third place – Flamingo (Collins Roark).
Licking’s annual Light the Night festival, sponsored by the City of Licking and local area churches and businesses, featured candy, hot dogs, hot drinks, games and a costume contest.

Ages 5-8: First place – Bull Rider (Flynn Sullins); Second place – Highway Patrolman (Acelyn Sellars); Third place – Native American (Levi Trout).
Covid didn’t seem to put a damper on the festivities. This year’s nice weather invited many to attend who may have sat out the past two years due to rain and cold. The winners of this year’s costume contest won buckets of goodies and a claim to fame.
