Vrba sentenced to life in prison

Texas County defendant Andrew J. Vrba received a sentence of life in prison for the 2017 murder of Joseph Steinfeld, Jr. Judge Calvin R. Holden announced the sentence on Nov. 20, 2020. In addition to the charge of first-degree murder, Vrba was also found guilty of the Unclassified Felony of Armed Criminal Action, for which he was sentenced to 20 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

On Nov. 25, 2020, an appeal was filed with the Southern District Court of Appeal on behalf of Vrba by his attorney, Rosemary Ellen McGonagle Percival.
