Adopt-a-resident at Hickory Manor

By Shari Harris, Publisher

Christmas can be a difficult time for those living in long-term care facilities. In a normal year, families are often unable to visit as often as loved ones would like, and 2020 is far from a normal year. Restrictions have made visits even more strained and infrequent.

Hickory Manor administrator Tiffany Allen announced an Adopt-a-Resident for Christmas program, and will be brightening the holiday for the people living at the skilled nursing facility in Licking. A Christmas tree in front of the building will contain little paper angels. On these angels will be a number and whether the resident is male or female. On the back of the paper will be a list of likes, dislikes and clothing sizes.

If you would like to provide Christmas surprises for one of the residents, stop by and claim an angel. You must bring gifts to the facility by December 21. You may call Hickory Manor at 573-674-2411 or ring the doorbell to let them know you are claiming an angel, and when you bring gifts.
