Pool managers Kerrie Sanchez and Candice Shepherd, along with pool employees, were ready for the water fun to begin at the Licking Aquatic Center, which opened on Saturday. Young and young at heart arrived even before the gate opened.

The Aquatic Center will be open Monday through Thursday, 12 – 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 12 – 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 – 6 p.m., now through Labor Day.

Entertainments include a lazy river, slides, diving board and fountains to keep everyone cooled off. Tables with umbrellas offer shade and a place to eat food items from a new menu this year. The facility is handicapped accessible, and lifeguards are staffed when the pool is open.

Admission is free for those three and under, $4 for ages four through 61, and $3 for age 62 and up. Season passes are available: individual is $65 and for a family, two adults and three children – $165. Cash and checks are accepted. Private parties are available by calling 573-674-1125 for reservations.
